Dear Friends,
Since 1926, Founder’s Day & World Thinking Day is a day of international friendship, where all the Scouts & Guides come together to celebrate, reflect, and fundraise for the Movement. Today is also a time for all of us to renew our Scout/Guide Promise and our commitment to creating a better world.

It’s been a difficult year for 2020, but we should be grateful for the time it’s given to us. 2021 might be another challenging year, yet we are hopeful that as long as all of us stand together we could face all the challenges in front of us. Since the Covid-19 pandemic happened in 2019, scouts and guides have been badly affected by the disturbance of many ways of their lives due to lockdowns, social isolation, gaps in wages and education, and many more. Still, Scouts and Guides across the globe have showed resilience and are at the frontline of COVID-19 response and recovery by being active in their communities to curb the spread of the virus and safeguard the wellbeing of community members.

The theme for World Thinking Day 2021 is ‘Peace Building’. Peace building has been one of the core missions for all the Scouts & Guides since 1907, and it’s still essential and relevant today. We might be further apart on this Founder’s Day/World Thinking Day, we could still Stand Strong, Stand Up and Stand Together for peace building.

Hence, I would like to take this opportunity to CONGRATULATE the World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) for being nominated for 2021 Nobel Peace Prize, recognising the outstanding contributions of Scouting and Guiding that have empowered hundreds of millions of young people to create a lasting culture of peace in their communities for more than a century.

The ISGF World Committee and World Bureau would like to THANK YOU every one of you for the utmost support and understanding throughout the year and we promise to play our part well to make substantial and meaningful progress for the movement. Let’s not only celebrate Founder’s Day & World Thinking Day but also all the little wins along the way.
