The B-P Scout Guild Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, organized a Boys camp at Ruby’s Jungle Retreat at Templers Park on 18 – 19 August 2018. Rubiah is the wife of one of our guild members and the Jungle Retreat is named after her. Ms Jasmine Cleetus, our committee member, who was the coordinator, invited 18 under privileged boys from her school for this wonderful experience. This gave them an opportunity to experience outdoor life and camping.

On 26 November 1942 the ship Donau sailed from Oslo, Norway, with 532 Jews on board. They were sent to Auschwitz. At the same time a rescue operation was begun. Around 1000 persons – including 500 Jews – were smuggled from Oslo across the border to safety in neutral Sweden. A market gardener, Rolf Syversen, organised the action, known as Carl Fredriksens Transport. In 2013 a memorial park was opened near to the site of the market garden.

During the Good Service Awards 2018 that took place in South Australia the Silver Emu award was given to Brett Grant, former chairman of ISGF World Committee (2008 – 2011).
On Saturday, 15th September 2018, Scout and Fellowship Ghana had their Annual General Meeting (AGM). They elected a new board to manage the affairs of the Ghana Fellowship for the next three years. Delegates came from all the 10 regions of Ghana.
On the 3rd May 2018, the National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Italy, the MASCI, held a seminar on ‘Human Rights’ at the Villa Lubin in Roma. During the seminar, several prominent keynote speakers took the floor to address the institutional, the environmental and the social and economic migration while highlighting the challenges the migrants must cope with.
