Pop cans for Haiti
This article appeared in “Frontenac News” on 21 May 2011, the local newspaper in Verona, Ontario, Canada.
Verona, resident Linda Bates, who has made a number of trips to Haiti as the International Project Team leader of the International Scout and Guide Fellowship, will be heading down in Haiti January 2012 to deliver another load of medical, school and other related supplies for villagers in Grison Garde.
She and her team are asking members of the community to support their efforts by dropping off their empty pop cans in a plastic bag to her or a member of her team at the Frontenac Farmers’ Market, which is held every Saturday from 9AM – 1PM at the Lions Hall in Verona. Every little bit helps.
