World Water Day and Arab Day
World Water Day is an annual United Nations observance day held on 22 March that highlights the importance of fresh water. The day is used to advocate for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.
Within the collaborations between the ISGF Arab Region with the Arab Organizations, the ISGF Arab Region, represented by the Committee of Community Service and Development another celebration. They participated in the celebration of the Arabian Water Council on the occasion of the International Arab Day and World Water Day under the slogan of “Sustainability Through Water Preservation” (Cherishing the value of water).
There was participation from the Arab League, UNESCO’s regional branch, his excellency Dr. Mahmoud Abu Zaid, chairman of the Arabian Water Council, Dr. Hussein Al-Atfi, secretary general of the Arabian Water Council, a group of specialists and Mr. Fathi Farghali, president of the ISGF Arab Region.
It took place on Wednesday April 7th, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. The celebration was conducted remotely through ZOOM’s online platform, which was clarified by the Secretary General of the Committee of Community Service and Development Mr. Misfer Al-Ghobashi.
