NSGF Ghana held a joint celebration on 22 February 2020

The National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Ghana (NSGF-Ghana) held on 22 February 2020 a joint celebration of Founder’s Day/World Thinking Day.  They celebrated this day together with the Ghana Scout Association (GSA) and the Ghana Girl Guides Association (GGGA).

The NSGF-Ghana, in collaboration with GSA and the GGGA have jointly celebrated 22 February 2020 under the theme “Living Thread-Diversity, Equity and Inclusion”. The National President of NSGF-Ghana, Mr. Bani held a speech and so did Mr. Idriss Hussain, Chairman of ISGF Africa Region. They both urged scouting/guiding organizations across the globe to work closely in harmony to enable them to achieve a common goal.  NSGF-Ghana is committed to work together with their Scout and Guide organisations in a harmonious and on peaceful platforms.  They were optimistic that the cordial relationship they have embarked upon will be maintained for future generation. 

Executive Director of Rock Foundation, Mrs. Mavis Opoku Asantewaa, called for the inclusion of speech therapist, psychotherapy, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), eye and dental in the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) for people living with Down syndrome.  She also asked Ghanaians to accept and support children with Down syndrome. Mrs. Asantewaa said when these therapists are covered under the NHIS it would improve the health and well-being of the children. 

During the celebration members had fun games such as musical chair, eating in the air, etc, and was graced by a performance by the “Autism Awareness, Care and Training” in Accra.
