A special function was held on Monday, 15th April 2019 to celebrate the 17th anniversary of the Maldives Scout and Guide Fellowship (MSGF) and to welcome the holy month of Ramadan (month long fasting period).

MSGF Executive committee members and a large number of members were present for the event. Special guest Dr. Ziyad Baqir, Former Minister of Islamic Affairs and a former Group Scout Leader addressed the gathering.

The programme included, Oath taking of the new members, cutting of a special anniversary cake, followed by the presentation of "Certificate of Appreciation" to those who were actively involved in the MSGF events of 2018.

At the end of the function a special "Maahefun" was held (Maahefun is a get together among friends and relatives and colleagues to mark the approaching of the month Ramadan). It is a tradition where people gather to have their traditional snacks and local dishes, Ramadan gift exchange and a " Sing Along " activity were also held as important part of the programme.
