I drove 9 hours by car to participate in the 41st European Guild Forum, 10-17 January 2009, Grossarl, Austria and I felt immediately the hospitality when I arrived and met people. What I've heard is that the village of Grossarl got a future when it was chosen, about forty years back, to host the annual European Forum for adult scouts. Not a bad choice because enough mountains and much goodwill of everyone in the village. What do you expect when you leave the Netherlands from the cold and the snow line started near Munich. Grossarl was covered on the mountains with snow and a slightly five degrees celsius below zero and it would take until Wednesday before fresh snow would fall.

Members of the Czech National Scout and Guide Fellowship (NSGF) played an important role in various services at the Czech National Jamboree "Klíč", which was held from April 30 to May 4, 2008 near Plzen (Pilsen). Over two thousand scouts and guides from all parts of the Czech Republic participated in this great gathering. Several troops from Poland, Russia, Germany and the Netherlands also took part in many of the interesting scout activities and liked very much the genuinely friendly atmosphere of this event. Adult scout visitors from France, Germany and the Netherlands felt very happy among so many younger brothers and sisters and particularly appreciated the exhibition in the field Scout Museum displayed there by members of the Scout Collectors Guild. The NSGF service team had major responsibilities in food services, technical support and management.
