Planting_trees_TataouineIn 2012 again from 5 till 13 October, the National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Tunisia organised a journey open to all the National Fellowships. We were about 80 participants from 9 countries of the Arab region, France and Greece, and about the same number of Tunisians.

Meeting old friends, making new friends were very nice. It is always a pleasure to meet friends during those travels. The discussions particularly with the Tunisians, the Libyans and the Jordanese were very interesting concerning the actions done for the refugees.

We also had a good turn by giving books to a school and planting trees in the yard of the school.

Sousse was the first town : opening ceremony with lecture on environment and the beautiful choir of the NSGF. Visit of the town : the museum and its beautiful mosaics, the souk and also the wonderful mausoleum for Habib Bourguiba in Monastir not far from Sousse. El Jem and its amphitheatre, oval and of an ochre colour. Unique in the World !

We went through Sfax and spent two days in Djerba so well known for its climate ; museums, trip on the sea and bathing for some of us…so good ! And Tataouine, far in the south and well known for its ksours (fortified adobe villages) of the XVth and XVIth centuries, Along the roads we could see many many olive trees and slowly going down to the south the earth became more and more arid ; it looks like a desert with stones, a fascinating landscape.
