Australian 4x4 B-P Guild encourages young members to join

4x4_B-P_Guild_AustraliaLast November 2010, the 4x4 (four wheel drive vehicles) Branch of the Baden-Powell Guild of Queensland, Australia, had their Xmas get-away at Moogerah Dam North West of Brisbane in Queensland where they camped.

("Moogerah" comes from the aboriginal word “Moojirah” that means “home of the thunderstorm”).

Milestone age of 100 reached

member_NZ_100_yearsCongratulations to Jean Schaef who recently reached the age of 100. Jean is member of the West Land Trefoil Guild in New Zealand. She has a long history in Girl Guiding on the West Coast on the South island and she still enjoys her Trefoil Guild meetings with her friends. While Jean is the eldest in the West Land Trefoil Guild, the youngest is only 22 years in the Puckles Trefoil Guild (Christchurch).

Eclaireuses Eclaireurs de France are 100 years old

Centenary_France_100_yearsOn the 20th October 1911, the “ les Éclaireurs de France” launched, in the Sorbonne (the French University) their Scouting association, the first in France, only 4 years after Lord Robert Baden-Powell, Founder of Scouting, initiated his first Scout camp on Brownsea Island (11th August 1907).

Flood damage Scout and Guide properties Australia

FloodAn update of the flood damage of Scout and Guide properties in the state of Queensland has been given by the Baden-Powell Guild of Queensland. Recovery of the properties is currently being planned.

National Joint Council Annual Meeting in Australia
