The Fellowship Santo Antonio from Cape Verde invited the ISGF Chairman, Mida Rodrigues, to be present at the 40th anniversary of the Scouts of S. Domingo’s festivities and to meet with the Fellowship members.
A cultural show, an official ceremony with representatives of the government and St George’s day commemorations highlighted the Scouts anniversary of a very big group of boys and girls that are very proud of being members of the 1st group of “Associação de Escuteiros de Cabo Verde”.
The Santo Antonio Fellowship started in the town of S. Domingo in 2011 and has a membership of around 130 members just on the island of Santiago. Cape Verde is composed by 9 inhabited islands.
The meeting with the Fellowship members was very fruitful and information from both sides from Cape Verde association as well as from ISGF.
There were songs, working groups and a very good dinner with local specialties.
The young Fellowship is working on their constitution and they plan to organize their headquarters and after that they plan to build and settle a home for elderly people.
Very soon they will apply for membership of ISGF. The Chairman of the Santo Antonio Fellowship, Olívia Lima, received an ISGF scarf and the ISGF flag from Mida Rodrigues and the members got stickers and badges. A table flag from the country was offered to ISGF and will go to the World Bureau.
This Fellowship started with the collaboration of the Fellowship Nuno Álvares, a member of the Portuguese NSGF.
