Greg Davies, member of National Scout and Guide Fellowship of Australia and treasurer of AsPac Regional Committee has been awarded. He received the Order of Australia for his services to Scouting, locally and internationally. He has done so much for Rovering and Fellowship in Australia over the years, this recognition by the government is well deserved.
The Gathering was held at the Bayview Hotel, Georgetown, Penang, Malaysia from 17 till 21 November 2022. I would like to congratulate FOFSAG Malaysia (NSGF Malaysia) for hosting this 16th ISGF ASPAC Gathering with the theme “Leadership through Fellowship”.
This Gathering was supposed to be held in year 2021 but was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. There were 160 delegates and participants from AUSTRALIA, BANGLADESH, INDIA, INDONESIA, SOUTH KOREA, MALAYSIA, MALDIVES, NEPAL, SINGAPORE, SRI LANKA and TUNISIA. Sadly, NEW ZEALAND, PAKISTAN, and PHILLIPINES did not manage to attend. The organizer was so thrilled that our Tunisian brothers and sisters came all the way from Tunisia to be at this gathering in fellowship.
The Tunisian Scout and Guide Fellowship will organize the 5th Fellowship Gathering in Tunisia. Participation is open to all members of ISGF worldwide. The programme of the Gathering is presented in details in the information letter. Discussions will be held in English, French and Arabic.
A delegation of members of the Tunisian NSGF recently completed a two-week trip to Malaysia from 15-29 November 2022. It was composed of 22 participants Adult Scouts (8) and Guides (14). This was on the occasion of the 16th ISGF ASPAC Regional Meeting, held in Penang from 17 to 21 November. We were able to visit Penang, Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur.
New Year’s message 2023
Dear members,
A year has passed and we take the opportunity to look over our shoulder and reflect on what has happened. Some of us had high hopes for a brighter future after long time of lockdown during the pandemic. There were hopes for being able to meet and spend time with friends and family. Some events were hold successfully others were postponed or were virtual. Every time we receive an article for ISGF website it is interesting to read how Guild members all over the world are coming back to work with interesting projects and gatherings. So please carry on with the good work all over the planet and send information on what you are doing.
The first branch of the state Scout and Guide Fellowship in India in the state of Maharashtra, was established in the year 1962 and celebrated its 60th Anniversary on the 12th of November 2022.
From 16 – 19 November 2022 NSGF Libya held her 10th Conference in the International Scout and Guide Training center in Jadda’im, west of Tripoli, Libya. About 200 participants from Local Scout and Guide Fellowships (LSGFs) attended the Conference.
During the night, from 29.10 to 30.10.2022, a chartered transport from Ukraine with private belongings arrived in Hörsching (Austria).
The 17th Med Gathering and 6th South Europe Sub-Regional Gathering took place at Protaras (Famagusta District) Cyprus, from 24 to 29 October 2022. From early morning on the 24th October, participants started coming and by the end of the day we had 78 participants from 10 countries including Cyprus. The participating countries were: Cyprus, Greece, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Libya, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and United Kingdom. Also present at this Gathering was the Chairman of the World Committee, Elin Richards and Vice-Chairman Ana Rodrigues.
The ISGF Africa Regional Committee announces their 4th Africa Region Conference. The NSGF of Senegal will be the host for this conference.
