Fellowship Day - 25 October 2018

world ISGF AISG 2Dear Friends.

HAPPY FELLOWSHIP DAY,

I bring to you my and the ISGF World Committee’s greetings for Fellowship Day.
We would like to congratulate all the sub-regions and regions which have held their gatherings and wish all who are yet to have theirs to have fruitful gatherings. We would like to congratulate all the Individuals elected to steer their respective regions/sub-regions to great heights, and we urge them to work extra hard.

As you are aware our Secretary General, Cecile Bellet, left the World Bureau officially on September 7th, 2018, and we are happy to announce that Nathalie Henrard, the new Secretary General, will start her work from 15th October 2018. We request you to give her the maximum support and friendship we share as scouts and guides.

Our teams, made up of World Committee members and volunteers, are working extremely hard to make a positive contribution to the development of our beloved organization. We would like to extend our appreciation to all members who have contributed to our global project (The Refugee Shelter project IMVEPI Uganda). So far we have more than a half of the work done and we look forward to complete this project at least by the end of 2018. We really appreciate your continued work and support to enable us to complete this project.

We continue to work with our partners: WAGGGS, WOSM UNHCR and others despite a few challenges and we are very optimistic that we will resolve them in due course. In addition we are making more contacts with a number of organizations through our partnership team and our team is open to your support.

Dear friends, we need to remember that the world continues to face challenging situations of Global warming, conflicts, refugee, hunger, diseases and other disasters caused by environmental abuse, as scouts and guide we have a huge responsibility towards minimizing them as we work to make this world a better place. As we celebrate this year’s Fellowship day we need to reflect on issues affecting our Earth where we all live and think of better solutions, as we do a good turn for that matter. Our thoughts, at this time particularly go to our brothers and sisters in Indonesia following the recent earthquake and tsunami.

Let us continue to work for Peace, and to build good relationships among our communities and support all efforts geared towards making this world a better place. Remember “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”

We wish you a happy celebration.

Yours in Fellowship,
Mathius Lukwago
Chairman ISGF World Committee
