As mentioned in the Chairman’s letter published in the Newsletter ISGF Info of June 2010, ISGF offered a young woman from Peru a grant out of the Rieck Müller Ceschi Funds. Milagros Gutierrez from Peru will travel to the United Kingdom to attend the Young Women’s World Forum in October 2010 in London.

ISGF financially supported the Girl Guides Association of Thailand training as well as to have Ms. Jeyadhevi Subramaniam from the Asia Pacific Resource Pool conducted the training for 31 trainers from all over Thailand. The training took place from 21-25 April 2010.

Eighteen trainee leaders of the Fiji Girl Guides Association (FGGA) were recently trained by Prue Carpenter, an Asia Pacific trainee from Australia.

Please find attached details of young women in nine countries that WAGGGS has identified as those where we would most like ISGF members to consider helping with funding. The young women require funding to attend the Young Women’s World Forums (YWWF) in the UK later this year in October.

Update project Haiti: 15 January 2010

As coordinator of the International Projects Team I'm pleased to announce that over $100,000.00 in medical supplies have been donated by Canada for Haiti relief. The donation of medical supplies continues to pour in and volunteers have sorted, packed the first $10,000.00 in supplies and loaded it all to be delivered to Haiti. It was a labour of love as our thoughts and prayers are for the many displaced, cold, hungry, lonely, and devastated people of Haiti.

At the last World Committee (WCom) meeting in March 2009, the WCom decided to form a team to maintain a register of the International Projects that our ISGF and its members are undertaking around the world, giving all ISGF members and other interested parties the opportunity to contribute to them as well.

The International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) express their heartfelt condolences to all those who have lost their near and dear ones. We stand united in Scouting and Guiding spirit with all those who have suffered in tragedy as well and offer our sympathies and support in this hour of need.
