From Wednesday, September 23rd to Sunday, 27th September the 8th Conference of the Central Europe Sub Region (CESR) took place in seminar centre Zeillern castle in the province of Lower Austria. There were 80 participants from 12 countries – Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Estonia, Germany, Liechtenstein, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and United Kingdom.
The event was mainly influenced by the international exchange of experience and of the Scout sociability.
A new sub-regional committee was elected for a term of three years. This consists of Teresa Tarkowska-Dudek (Chairwoman, Poland), Hans Slanec (Vice-Chairman, Austria), Meinhard Perkmann (Treasurer, Austria) and Florian Wiehring (Secretary, Germany). The former chairman Manne Bosse was 16 years member of the board and Christa Schmeißer, secretary, for 6 years. Both got the golden decoration from the CESR for their work from the new chairwoman Teresa.
Mida Rodrigues, the chairwoman from the World Committee, presented ISGF and showed pictures from activities in ISGF. Hans Slanec, chairman of the Europe Committee, informed the participants about the next Europe Conference in Tours, France 2016. The CESR – Statute was updated and the Conference decided the Rules of Procedure.
Excursions were made to the nearby city of Linz, the Mendlingtal and the surrounding area. The evenings ended traditionally in intimate circles with singing and dancing.
The next conference will take place from 5th to 9th September 2018 in the city of Poznan, Poland.
