National Fellowships

flood relieve india 2021 03The Maharashtra State Indian Scout and Guide Fellowship successfully completed its Relief Project on Sunday, the 29th of August 2021 in three villages at about 380 kms from Mumbai. They distributed 200 kits containing various food articles like atta (wheat flour), dal (lentils), rice, sugar, masalas (spice blend), tea etc. and other daily utility items and school bags.

A team of 10 Fellowship members started their journey at 6.00 am on the 29th of August and reached the foothill of the villages and settled in the picturesque environment of green meadows all around on the slopes of the hills and their houses standing atop.
The villagers were brought turn by turn by the hired jeep vehicles and were systematically delivered the items to each one member of a family. The students were given the attractive school bags.
flood relieve india 2021 01The flood victims narrated their plight of miseries suffered due to damages caused to their houses and belongings by torrential rains and winds. They were still living in makeshift camps. No doubt they had also received support from the government agencies by way of cash and materials to compensate their losses.

By the grace of nature, the villagers were immune to Corona although the Fellowship members were wearing masks. We collected about US$ 2750 for the project.
