Happy 56th ISGF Fellowship Day!
What a year it has been! I still remember vividly how the world turned upside down when the COVID-19 pandemic hit us almost two years ago. None of us was able to escape, all of us were affected by it one way or another. Year 2020 was a difficult year, year 2021 is not any better as we continue to witness all the negative impact caused by the unwelcomed pandemic. But, we are grateful that we are given more time to think, to reflect and to re-strategize to make the organization a better and more sustainable for the future.
Many of us adapted and embraced the changes created by the pandemic, from not knowing how to operate a smart phone to attending back to back virtual meetings; from only doing face to face adult scouting and guiding activities to deliver conference and webinar online. We might not be able to meet our fellow members physically at the moment, but the technology has drawn us closer than before. I am so proud to see our members keep thriving despite all the obstacles.
The World Committee and World Bureau continue to work on what’s best for the association and give support to all our members whenever we could. After two postponements of the 29th World Conference, the World Conference team and the Host Committee are doing their absolute best to give us the best solution.
I believe that we might have another 1 or 2 challenging years ahead of us, but we should remain hopeful. Let’s continue to stand together, make what’s best for all our members, our community and to support our movements!
On behalf of the ISGF World Committee and World Bureau, wishing all of you a wonderful Fellowship Day!
