Welcome to ISGF PDF Print E-mail

We are a worldwide organisation for adults in support of Scouting and Guiding and who want to strengthen the dialogue between communities through community-oriented projects worldwide. What is ISGF about

It is open to former members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts WAGGGS and the World Organization of the Scout Movement WOSM, and to adults who did not have the opportunity to be Scouts or Guides and active Scout/Guide leaders but who believe in their ideals.

Created in 1953 and supported by WOSM and WAGGGS, ISGF has members in 59 countries and more to follow. Furthermore, it is also represented in 33 countries with members (individuals or units/groups) of Central Branch.

Our mission and vision

In 2003, the 80 000 members celebrated the 50th anniversary of ISGF by carrying out projects to the benefit of the communities in which they live and work or worldwide.

ISGF LogoThe new ISGF website has been launched a few days ago. You'll tell us that it is with a few weeks of delay. It is true, but the work was still more important than the one we had foreseen; and also some hitches disrupted the good progress of the work.

But let us remain positive and be delighted all together at this wonderful news!

What a great satisfaction for the World Committee members!

Indeed, it allows them to answer to the desire, to the wish that many NSGF had expressed: see a new website more modern, more attractive, and easier to use.

And also, it is a long time that the World Committee members wanted to change the website; but never a team dared to tackle such a big work.

And it is an amazing team which started to work; I followed the works and it seemed to me much more difficult to transfer and update the hundreds of files from our previous site to the new one than creating a new one. But we could not abandon these files!

I would like to thank warmly this team, which has been led with tenacity and knowledge by our member of the World Committee, Leny Doelman.

But my thanks are particularly for the webmaster who worked for free since the World Committee decided in October 2007 to change our site. He spent hundreds of hours on working on the new website and also trained Leny to become an administrator.

Thanks a lot,
thanks to all and now each of us, each of you can go and consult the new ISGF website and also help it to live.
